Anthology Modern Danish Fairytales II
ELEVEN MODERN FAIRYTALES from the land of Hans Christian Andersen.
The following eleven stories have been chosen to represent modern Danish fairytales, in a contest held annually in honour of Hans Christian Andersen.
Written by authors from all over the kingdom, men and women, young and old, the tales reflect the literary as well as the human legacy left to the Danish people by Hans Christian Andersen. Inspired by one of the greatest storytellers in history, Danish writers compete annually in writing a fairytale in the spirit of the famous son of Denmark.
The fairytales in this anthology in may ways reflect the soul of the Danish people in the year 2007, but are at the same time tangible evidence of the influential power of traditional storytelling being passed on from generation to generation.
